Name
Session 5: Green Stormwater Infrastructure – An Effective Way to Meet Your Water Challenges
Date & Time
Thursday, September 22, 2022, 8:40 AM - 9:40 AM
Description
Natural land absorbs rainwater, but hard surfaces such as rooftops, sidewalks, driveways and streets, do not, and stormwater runoff from these surfaces may cause flooding and ultimately pollute the Bay creating multiple problems for both public and private entities. This session will provide background on green stormwater infrastructure solutions, where stormwater runoff is slowed, infiltrated, used, and/or treated through natural processes to manage water runoff.  The City of San Jose will share case studies that demonstrate how green infrastructure can provide multipurpose benefit while ultimately creating a healthier community and complying with State Water Board regulatory requirements.
