This session will provide an introduction to the important topic of electrical safety. The speaker will review electrical terminology and how electrical systems operate. Then he will address some of the hazards associated with electrical work, such as electrical shock and arc flash. With this background, the workshop will culminate in a job hazard analysis of several typical work situations involving electrical hazards. The students will have the opportunity to apply their new knowledge as we work together and determine how to do these jobs safely and meet OSHA and other safety regulations. When you return to your regular jobs, you can help determine what electrical hazards are present and how to perform work around electrical hazards safely!
